Square Peg Union was originally created to support the needs of children and families that fall in the grey areas. Plainly, kids in mainstream classrooms that sometimes require additional support or creative teaching. Families with kids that don’t always fit the narrow traditional pathways. The families hiking a mountain with no clear trail. The square pegs being repeatedly asked to fit in the round holes… to sit back down, to not blurt out, to pay more attention, to read “on time” or to read less, run faster or run slower, to stay in line, to calm down, to speak up, you get the idea.

This is a social group. We ask that we recognize our differences and pull up a chair! We ask…What if we as adults in this society need to be more flexible instead of just asking our kids to be.

How we talk about ourselves. The narrative is in your hands.
